Equipment maintenance, in turn, is of fundamental importance in all areas. The continuity of production processes relies on ensuring that equipment is operational and functional. From this perspective, the present study seeks to guarantee greater availability of functional equipment. In a scenario where maintenance is performed only reactively, the objective is to develop a preventive maintenance plan, along with an inspection plan, to reduce corrective interventions. This is achieved by analyzing maintenance history data from the year 2024, along with the implementation of a preventive maintenance management software. Through this software, all maintenance and inspection plans are scheduled and validated with a two-month sampling period.
During the analyzed period, only one corrective maintenance intervention occurred, while all others were shifted to preventive maintenance. The inspections also helped identify potential issues before they occurred, allowing for interventions that prevented machine downtime. The two-month sampling period does not provide clear evidence regarding possible future maintenance needs, but a more conservative projection estimates a reduction of around 50% in corrective interventions.
Even with a limited sampling period, the results were satisfactory. The next step of the study would involve implementing the plans across all leased equipment, and an annual evaluation could be conducted to identify key points and further improve the process.
