Currently, aluminum has gained prominence in industrial applications due to its light weight and favorable strength-to-weight ratio. The aluminum connecting rod, used in various mechanical systems, can have its mechanical properties optimized through forging processes, especially hot forging. These processes aim to improve the microstructural characteristics and the mechanical strength of the part, aligning it with the demands of the applications. The present study aimed to analyze the hot forging process on an aluminum connecting rod, performed during a practical class. To this end, cold and hot forging tests were conducted, with the main focus on hot forging. After the process, the connecting rod underwent an analysis of its mechanical and structural properties. The results showed that hot forging promoted significant improvements in the rod’s strength and microstructure, highlighting the advantages of this method compared with other processes.
