This study seeks to propose the use of computer vision systems applied in the industrial environment for the dimensional inspection of extruded aluminum profiles. The aluminum profile market has been gaining ground in recent years, leading to the need for more precise and reliable quality controls to add further value to their commercialization. The object of this work is the development of an experimental prototype, integrating hardware and software to perform qualitative measurements on extruded profiles. The results of the studies indicate that vision systems can indeed be used for this application; however, it is necessary that the peripheral data capture components be dimensioned according to the level of precision aimed to be achieved
