This research seeks to address the development of a specific project model for the creation of printed tourist guides, in addition to its importance for the tourism sector and the theme's relationship with design. The main objective of this project was to present a model for the development of guides, as until now, no particular methodology for this existed. It was necessary to revisit the concepts of information and editorial design to understand how information is organized and how a graphic project is managed. Furthermore, the structuring of guides was conceptualized. The project model was created from the fusion of the Letraset (2016) and Redish (2000) methodologies. The choice was made because one belongs to the field of editorial design and the other to information design, respectively. Through an analytical comparison, the stages relevant to the research were maintained. This made it possible to create a specific project model for the elaboration of guides. It is composed of six stages and was tested through a preliminary validation with the development of a prototype tourist guide for the city of Laguna/SC. One of the main tourist destinations in Santa Catarina, located in the southern region of the state, where the economy revolves mainly around tourism. The developed model is still embryonic; thus, it is necessary to make comparisons with other methodologies, as well as conduct tests and applications, in order to make adjustments and changes, allowing this proposal to grow and consolidate as a project practice.
