Abstract

The present study aimed to use conventional laboratory methods to impregnate silica gel spheres with Cannabis sativa so that they can be provided for the training of detection dogs. Two methods were tested: infusion, using a liquid medium, and simple distillation, using a gaseous medium. After the impregnation methods, tests were performed on an FTIR device, which can verify the presence of the Cannabis sativa group, that is, if the method successfully impregnated the spheres. Satisfactory results were obtained for both tests, which were then tested with the detection dogs, thus validating the impregnation methods used.
