Electric mobility and, consequently, the growth of electric vehicle fleets at the state and national levels have been prominent in recent years due to public incentives provided to consumers, given the advantages the electric market is offering. Among the various advantages pointed out for the use of electric cars, three stand out the most: sustainability, energy efficiency, and technological innovation. The objective of this study is to project a scenario for the electricity demand required by the estimated increase in electric vehicle fleets by 2050 in the state of Santa Catarina. The methodology used was qualitative-quantitative, with data collected primarily from government websites. The results indicated that, in the projected scenario, the electric vehicle fleet will increase approximately 63-fold, which will lead to higher electricity consumption for this market and will necessitate the installation of new charging stations, as the state currently has only 34 public charging points.
