The accelerated growth in smartphone usage has driven people and innovative companies to develop mobile applications to meet customers' demands and needs in a more practical and agile way. When a company decides to create an app to address the market, it faces the need to choose the technologies to be adopted. On the technical layer, mobile solution development can be divided into two main approaches: native and hybrid, each with its characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages. This work aims to perform a comparative analysis between two applications, developed respectively with native and hybrid development approaches, addressing financial, maintenance, and performance aspects, in order to clarify the main differences between these two forms of mobile app development. From this analysis, it was possible to identify scenarios in which one approach proved more advantageous than the other, thus providing a solid basis for the more strategic and efficient choice of technology to be used in mobile app development.
